Billionaire Jeff Bezos and Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez recently tied the knot in a lavish three‑day wedding held from June 24–26, 2025, in historic Venice, Italy. The celebration combined grand ceremonies and high-profile guests—including Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Ivanka Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Diane von Furstenberg—traveling via luxury yachts and private jets. The upscale affair, partially hosted on Bezos’s $500 million superyacht Koru, reportedly cost between $48 million and $76 million.
To mitigate criticism over its extravagance, the couple sourced around 80% of provisions—including pastries by Rosa Salva and Murano glass gifts from Laguna B—from local artisans and pledged charitable donations in guests’ names to protect Venice’s heritage.
Security was heightened amid protests by the “No Space for Bezos” group, which led to the venue shift from Scuola Grande della Misericordia to the more secure Arsenale complex, and included measures to deter activists, such as thwarting plans for canal-based demonstrations.
Event planners Lanza & Baucina, also behind George & Amal Clooney's wedding, oversaw the exclusive affair. The couple invited around 200–250 guests, accommodated in top Venice hotels (Aman, Gritti Palace, Cipriani, Danieli), and issued invites asking guests to donate rather than give gifts.
